Houston Texans seem to have a ton of faith in a player that everyone else has written off

The Houston Texans are in a position to make a huge leap in 2025. Between 2023 and 2024, they didn't really make a leap. They had the same record and won one playoff game each year.

You could even say that the Texans got worse last year than they were the year before, and a lot of that is because of injuries, offensive coaching, and offensive line play. The offensive line play was bad in both the pass protection and the run blocking. Yet, because Joe Mixon was as good as he was, he was still able to oftentimes make something out of nothing.

Going into 2025, they have added a new offensive coordinator in Nick Caley, who worked under Sean McVay with the Los Angeles Rams prior, and they have added some weapons here and there, along with some pieces on the offensive line. But, there has also been some subtraction.

We can say that there is a big chance that Tank Dell won't play in 2025, and Stefon Diggs is now on the New England Patriots. Of course, they also traded Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders, and a few other things happened.

With how the run game was last year, it should be said that the Texans could be looking at an improved run game in 2025. And, it helps that they may possibly have one of the best duos at the RB position in the NFL.

According to several reports, the Texans and former Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb have mutual interest in one another.

This is a guy that it feels like everyone has written off because of all of the injuries. And that is somewhat fair. He has had some of the worst luck you can think of when it comes to injuries. But he's confident in himself, and it feels like the Texans are too.

And, who knows, maybe he is cheap because he won't be a starter, but he could be a great backup to Mixon, and maybe even start a few games if Mixon gets hurt.

It's something they certainly need to think about.
