The Houston Texans are taking a chance on a wide receiver coming off a one-year suspension from the league during the 2023 season. The Texans are set to have one of the more explosive receiver units in the league following an incredible 2023 season.
Nico Collins and Tank Dell were solid targets for C.J. Stroud last season. They also will have John Metchie III available after he sat out his rookie season for health reasons. The Texans traded with the Buffalo Bills for star receiver Stefon Diggs.
According to Ari Meirov with the 33rd Team, the Texans are signing Quintez Cephus ahead of training camp.

As previously discussed on GH, the Bills signed Cephus this spring after the league reinstated him:
Cephus was one of several players suspended for the entirety of last season for violating the league’s gambling policy.
The Lions drafted Cephus in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He caught 37 passes for 538 yards and four touchdowns in the three seasons he’s played in the league.
The Bills released him in May.
The 26-year-old Cephus had appeared in 22 NFL games and started in six. The six-foot-one, 208-pound athlete will have an uphill path to climb to make the Texans roster.
