How Did The Atlanta Falcons Spend Their Mini Bye?

The Atlanta Falcons went into Green Bay an uncertain mess and left with a much-needed win and answers to some very important questions. Since securing their 35-14 victory on Thursday night, they had a rare weekend with no practice. So how did coach Kevin Stefanski and company spend their downtime?

Social media spotted head coach Stefanski at Sanford Stadium on Saturday, along with second-year defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. and linebacker Kendal Daniels, both of whom had strong games Thursday night, who were on their Alma mater, Oklahoma‘s sideline in Athens. It was only the second time Oklahoma and Georgia have ever played each other, and the former alums had to come show support.

At the University of Oklahoma, safety Bowman Jr. showed how formidable he could be in the backfield, especially in his sophomore year, when he recorded 60 tackles and three interceptions, and in his junior year, when he made the first-team All-Big 12. After such a stellar college career, he was considered a steal when the Falcons drafted him in the fourth round of the 2025 draft.

Bowman Jr.’s teammate, the 6’5 “, 242-pound linebacker Kendal Daniels, spent the majority of his college career at Oklahoma State, redshirting his first year in 2021. In his freshman year, he started at safety and recorded 45 tackles and three interceptions. His most notable interception came against Texas, now Jacksonville Jaguars backup quarterback Quinn Ewers, with 8 seconds left to secure a team victory that season; he was named Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year and a member of the All-Conference second team. After two strong seasons at Oklahoma State, Daniels entered the transfer portal and landed at Oklahoma. In the 2026 NFL Draft, he was also considered a steal, going in the fourth round.

But it wasn’t just former players who showed up to see the SEC showdown. Head coach Stefanski was also on the sidelines, taking in the action between Georgia and Oklahoma. The players in the game had to be hyper-aware that he could be on a potential scouting mission for the Falcons during the limited free time he had this week. We will see if this trip has any consequences at the 2027 NFL Draft.

Bowman Jr. and Daniels returned to the sideline of their alma mater feeling like winners after playing a big part in their team’s Thursday night victory, even if Oklahoma didn’t win Saturday night.
