How did Tom Brady's agent open discussions with Buccaneers?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers probably thought they were on the outside looking in when it came to potentially landing Tom Brady in free agency. That was until Brady's agent Don Yee opened up discussions with the Buccaneers on a positive note.

Tampa Bay and the Los Angeles Chargers were the only two organizations to make formal offers to Brady, and the Bucs' offer was more enticing to Brady, who wanted to remain on the East Coast due to family reasons.

“You made a very good decision to call,” Yee told the Bucs, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.

Breer elaborated on Yee's opening statement to the Buccaneers saying that money was never really a concern of Brady's and that Tampa Bay was "checking all the boxes" that the 42-year-old quarterback wanted checked.

While money more than likely wasn't high on the list, Brady's only demand was to receive all the phone numbers of his new teammates.

Now that the Buccaneers have the six-time Super Bowl champion on board, they're primed to make a strong push for the playoffs in 2020.
