How Jalen Ramsey Trade Aids Bills in Title Push

The Buffalo Bills were already favorites to win the AFC East this offseason. They had won five straight division titles, after all. 

Their job is about to become much easier. 

With the Miami Dolphins trading away All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Fish have moved on from two of the better starters on their roster. 

Over the last few seasons, Miami was considered the top team in the AFC East that could match up against Buffalo from a skills perspective. 

As talented as Miami was, though, they have lost 11 of their last 12 matchups to the Bills. 

Things are about to get a lot worse for Miami

Despite having a down year, Ramsey was still the best cornerback on the Dolphins roster in 2014. Now that he is gone, the former Jacksonville Jaguar and FSU star has left a massive hole in Miami's secondary. 

As things stand now, Miami's starting cornerbacks consist of Kader Kohou, Storm Duck, and fifth-round rookie Jason Marshall Jr. None of these players has graded particularly well. 

It is safe to assume that Miami's pass defense will have major issues this season. That is great news for Josh Allen, the reigning MVP. 

Buffalo's franchise quarterback has thrown 37 touchdowns to just eight interceptions in 14 games against Miami. He is also 12-2 against the Fish during that time. 

The fact that the Dolphins have so many questions at cornerback this season won't help their chances. It may start a very uncomfortable rebuild for the organization moving forward.
