The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could use another backup quarterback behind Baker Mayfield. Jake Browning coming to Tampa Bay has its benefits since he backed up Joe Burrow several years with the Cincinnati Bengals. That said, Browning’s performance slid last year when the Bengals needed him most after Burrow’s turf toe injury, and the Bengals went out signed aged veteran Joe Flacco. Tampa Bay must find another viable and experienced arm for the quarterback room, and that could come during the NFL Draft. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that two quarterbacks “could gain interest” on the trade market during the draft. That’s Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richards and Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis. Richardson has the intriguing athleticism as a former Florida Gators star. His time with the Colts didn’t work out, as Indianapolis went for Daniel Jones in free agency. The Buccaneers had interest in Richardson when he came out of Gainesville, but his NFL performance leaves questions. Similar for Levis, the Buccaneers could find a backup who has 21 career starts, but he wasn’t great in the starts. Tennessee ultimately went for Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick last year, and he got to start right away because of Levis’ shoulder injury. Either Levis or Richardson could make sense for the Buccaneers if the team doesn’t have to give up too much in a trade. For more on the Buccaneers from Matthew click here.
