How the Packers defense is shining under Jeff Hafley

The Green Bay Packers defense has taken a dramatic turn this season, showing a relentless edge that's been pivotal in their early success. Under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, the Packers are not just focused on intercepting passes; they're also creating chaos in the backfield.

In a dominant Week 3 performance against the Tennessee Titans, the Packers recorded eight sacks in their 30-14 victory, marking their highest total in a game since 2005 and tied for the second most in a game in franchise history. This impressive display came despite starting quarterback Jordan Love missing his second straight week due to an MCL injury.

Hafley, who took over after the departure of former defensive coordinator Joe Barry, has brought a fresh approach to the Packers' defensive scheme. The results have been noticeable. Green Bay has also already logged seven interceptions in just three games — matching its total for all of last season. 

In addition to the overall improvement, offseason acquisition safety Xavier McKinney has stood out. He has secured three interceptions in his first three outings, following having just three all last season with the New York Giants.
