How The Running Back Position Looks For The Falcons
Eric Hartline-Imagn Images

The Falcons have a running back room that consists of star two-way running back Bijan Robinson, workhorse Tyler Allgeier, and young depth like Carlos Washington Jr., Jase McClellan, and Elijah Dotson. As much as the team will want to test out Michael Penix in the passing game, they have a lot to go around in the running game.

In 2024, the Falcons utilized the running game more due to the struggle in the passing game. Robinson had himself a pro bowl season and Allgeier was a solid backup and had himself 644 yards.

Robinson is the leader of this group and just came off a 1,456-yard season with 14 rushing touchdowns along with 431 receiving yards and a touchdown. Along with Drake London, they were the bright spots in another non-playoff season.

Allgeier had a great season as a backup to Robinson as he had three touchdowns in 2024. He started his career with a 1,000-yard season in 2022 and has shared touches with Robinson, since Robinson was drafted in 2023.

Washington Jr, and Dotson were both undrafted in 2023 and are looking to be part of the roster and make some impact for the Falcons. McClellan was a 6th round pick out of Alabama in 2024. He rushed for 32 yards in 13 carries as a rookie.

The Falcons are looking to build more in the run game for the 2025. It looks like the Falcons can keep four or five running backs on the roster and it all starts with Robinson and Allgeier.
