After the Detroit Lions' win over the Cleveland Browns last Sunday, the Lions had some concerning cornerback injuries to worry about, with D.J. Reed and Terrion Arnold going down.
Since then, there's been some positive updates. Reed won't require surgery and will be back this season, and on Wednesday, we got this update.
Not seen at Lions practice Wednesday:

- RB Sione Vaki
- LT Taylor Decker
- LB Zach Cunningham
- CB DJ Reed
- CB Khalil Dorsey
- S Kerby Joseph
Terrion Arnold AND Alim McNeill WERE practicing.
Nick Whiteside has signed to the practice squad is out there.
That's a huge development. It's not a guarantee that he plays against the Bengals on Sunday, but it's a sign that it's a possibility. We'll have to monitor this one for the rest of the week and see what happens. We'll know once the initial injury report is released whether this was a limited or full practice. We'll update this piece then.
Go back and look at a lot of local media's 53-man roster predictions during training camp, and you'll see that many of us had Whiteside on the Lions' main roster this season.
It didn't happen as the Lions chose to keep fewer corners. Somehow, the UFL standout didn't get signed anywhere else, and now he's back. It would be shocking if the Lions let him get out of their sight again.
With Avonte Maddox likely playing cornerback this week, and Daniel Thomas being added to the IR last week, the Lions are moving Strickland to the 53-man roster.
He was on the roster last year and proved to be a solid special teams hand with his violent hits. He might stick all year. We'll see what happens.
