On the surface, it probably appears that Hall of Famer Peyton Manning and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts don't have a lot in common.
Manning spent his entire career in the AFC, he played for the Tennessee Vols in college, and he only used his legs on the football field when it was absolutely necessary.
Hurts, meanwhile, has spent his entire career in the NFC, he played for the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Oklahoma Sooners in college, and he can do some serious damage with his legs on the football field.
However, the common bond that Manning and Hurts share -- playing quarterback -- has led to the duo developing a solid relationship with each other.
But it's a bit unique for Manning.
Hurts is known for his intense and serious personality. Manning was certainly intense during his playing days, but he's also known for often cracking jokes to keep things light.
Because of Hurts' intense nature, Manning doesn't crack many any jokes with the Super Bowl LIX MVP.
"I like the way he goes about it (playing in the NFL)," said Manning during a conversation with Cris Collinsworth. "He calls me a lot and asks me lots of questions. They (Philadelphia) actually run a lot of plays that we (Indianapolis Colts) used to run. (Nick) Sirianni to Frank Reich to Tom Moore, sort of that chain (all former Colts assistants). And he calls me with very specific questions about certain plays, so he's a student of the game....his appreciation of the cerebral part of the game is what's impressive to me and how he's taken his game to the next level. And I think the sky's the limit for this guy.
"I haven't had a face to face with him in a while -- we do a lot of texting and a lot of voice memos, but I imagine he's reading those with a very straight and serious face," continued Manning when asked about Hurts' intensity. "I don't crack any jokes with him. I don't test my material on him, because I imagine I would hear crickets."
Every quarterback has their own unique personality. Manning is serious when he needs to be and then the rest of the time, he's usually cracking jokes (often in a self-deprecating way).
Hurts, on the other hand, is seemingly intense and serious 24/7.
But hey, they're both Super Bowl winning quarterbacks -- evidence that all you have to be is yourself as an athlete.
