'I feel attacked!' Dak Prescott delivers resounding endorsement of Cowboys’ culture amidst controversial comments from Micah Parsons and teammates

In Prescott’s eyes, there’s only a strong bond between teammates, even after another disappointing campaign. The 30-year-old said,

The culture is high, honestly. The culture is high from my [standpoint]. I say that in the sense that I don't know all of the talk that's been said, so I don't want to go into good, bad, or whatever. If y'all know of anybody, I'm not the one listening, and I try not to.

The Cowboys have won 36 games in the regular season, second only to the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. But they are a dumpster fire when it comes to the postseason. The Cowboys haven’t won an NFC Championship game since 1995, when Aikman was still the team’s quarterback. 

This has been a point of contention for football analysts; the culture isn’t great. But Prescott is proud of the bond he and his Cowboys teammates have.

That's something I've always bragged on and taken pride in. So if there's questions in that or concerns in that, I feel attacked. I'm sure some guys in the locker room do. Prescott said

In 2023, Prescott once again led the Cowboys to a great regular season, winning 12 games out of 17. It secured the NFC East division along with a home playoff game where they had not lost for 14 games. However, the Green Bay Packers came and did the unthinkable by winning at Arlington. 

After the season wrapped up, the two-time Pro Bowler finished second in the NFL MVP awards, behind Lamar Jackson. He led the league in passing touchdowns with 36 and only 9 interceptions. But losing to the Packers and extending his postseason woes to 2-5 has fingers pointing at him.

Despite the constant playoff failures, the word is that the Cowboys are set to make Prescott one of the highest-paid players in the NFL. When asked about what he thought of it, he said,

I'm definitely confident. Obviously, it helps the team. It's important for the numbers. Both sides understand that. Everything's great. It'll happen.

His current salary is $40 million a year since signing a four-year, $160 million deal back in 2021. But he could receive a further upgrade, raising his pay to around $59 million a year. Owner Jerry Jones is all in with the idea.
