It's late May, and Aaron Rodgers still hasn't signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Eventually, though, the time for a final decision will come. And for Matt LaFleur, who coached Rodgers for four seasons with the Green Bay Packers, the decision will be to play for the Steelers after all.
LaFleur went on the "Up and Adams Show" and revealed that Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin hasn't talked to him about Rodgers, nor has Arthur Smith. The offensive coordinator worked under LaFleur when both were with the Tennessee Titans in 2018.
"No, nothing. Neither has Arthur Smith, their OC," LaFleur said. "I haven't heard from either of those guys in regards to (Aaron Rodgers)."

Even if there has been no connection, LaFleur explained what he thinks will happen over the next few weeks.
"I'm pretty sure they know what they are doing, I'm sure they're confident in what they're doing," LaFleur added. "And I would fully expect him to be a Pittsburgh Steeler."
Recently, Aaron Rodgers had told Pat McAfee that he is delaying his football decision because of personal issues. On Wednesday, the quarterback appeared on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, and indicated what the real reason could be.
"I've figured it out during the last year when I've been in the weeds with these people who are close to me that have cancer," Rodgers said.
"I'm taking care of my people right now, and I'm taking care of my personal life responsibilities, and I'm keeping the conversation open as well," he added. "I'm in a serious relationship. I have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention. I have personal commitments I have made. I have a couple of people in my inner, inner circle who are battling some difficult stuff. So, I have a lot of things that are taking my attention."
For Aaron Rodgers, it wouldn't make sense to sign a contract and not fully commit to the Steelers, possibly losing offseason work. Therefore, he will solve his personal issues beforehand, and when he's ready, the decision will follow.
Rodgers has been an NFL quarterback since 2005, and this is the first time in his pro career that he is a free agent.
