'I still can't believe it' - ESPN says the Buffalo Bills made the best move of the entire offseason

ESPN's Ben Solak thinks the Buffalo Bills made the "single best move" of the entire NFL offseason.

Solak pointed out Buffalo signing wide receiver Khalil Shakir to a four-year extension worth $13.25 million per season as a move that he still "can't believe".

Additionally, Solak predicted that Shakir will have his first 1,000 yard season in 2025.

"I think the single best move in the offseason, bar none, without question, all things considered, was the Bills somehow signing Khalil Shakir to a four-year deal worth only $13.25 million per year," wrote Solak. "Darnell Mooney money? I still can't believe it. Shakir is going to have his first 1,000-yard season in 2025."

Shakir, a fifth round selection by the Bills in the 2022 NFL Draft, showed promise as a potential No. 1 wide receiver in 2024.

The former Boise State standout finished this third season in the NFL with 76 receptions for 821 yards and four touchdowns.

According to Buffalo Rumblings, Shakir had a potential market value of around $19 million per season.

The wide receiver market has exploded in recent seasons. If Shakir can perform like a true No. 1 wide receiver in Buffalo's offense, this will easily be the best wide receiver contract in the NFL. And if he only performs like a No. 2 wide receiver, it'll still be a solid deal for the Bills.

Buffalo also signed free agent wide receiver Josh Palmer to a three-year deal this offseason.

Shakir and Palmer, along with second-year wide receiver Keon Coleman, may not be the flashiest trio in the NFL, but they could end up being one of the most efficient — especially relative to what the Bills are paying them.
