'I Think This Is The Year' - Colin Cowherd Makes His Super Bowl Pick

Colin Cowherd has the Kansas City Chiefs falling short of a three-peat this postseason.

The playoff field is down to four ahead of Sunday's conference championship showdowns. Kansas City will host the Buffalo Bills for the AFC title, and the Philadelphia Eagles face the Washington Commanders for the NFC crown.

Cowherd ranked the remaining teams on his Tuesday radio show. He placed Philadelphia third ahead of Washington, but he believes the Commanders are "for real" and capable of defeating their division rival on the road.

As for his top spot, Cowherd placed Buffalo ahead of Kansas City. While he's in awe of the Chiefs consistently winning close games, he doesn't expect that formula to work against Josh Allen's Bills this Sunday.

"I think they're gonna win the Super Bowl," Cowherd said of the Bills. "I think it's the best version ... They're what the Ravens need to be. Efficient. They do not give up sacks. They don't get penalized. They don't turn it over."

Cowherd touted the backfield duo of James Cook and Ray Davis and called Buffalo's offensive line the "most underrated in the league." He sees the franchise finally winning its first Super Bowl championship.

"I think this is the year," he said. "Now, I don't necessarily think it's gonna be the year, and then another year, and then another year."

The Fox Sports pundit called the Bills "the Chiefs without the trophies." Like their rival, Buffalo has a strong organizational structure and plays sound football.

"Front office, ownership, quarterback, and I thought Sean McDermott, for all the criticism -- we have to be fair in this business -- I thought he had a great weekend," Cowherd said. "From the first series on, I thought Sean McDermott had an Andy Reid-like game plan."

The Bills handed the Chiefs their first loss of the 2024 season in Week 11, but they enter Arrowhead as narrow underdogs against the back-to-back AFC champions. Kansas City has eliminated Buffalo in three of the last four postseasons.

Sunday's AFC Championship Game starts at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
