'I was so pissed' - One of the Eagles' best players admits Terry McLaurin is a major sore spot

Terry McLaurin made headlines on Wednesday after he missed practice, even though there's a very good chance it's a completely innocuous situation.

He's not just relevant in Washington Commanders news, however, he's also relevant on the Philadelphia Eagles' side of things.

Eagles star cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, last year's runner-up for Defensive Rookie of the Year, recently went on a podcast and said McLaurin's 32-yard touchdown against him in Week 16 is easily his least-favorite moment from last year.

"It was in Washington and Terry caught that deep ball on me," Mitchell said on former Eagles corner Darius Slay's Big Play Slay podcast. "I was so pissed, man. I was pissed off. It was my least-favorite moment of the year and we lost that game, too."

McLaurin's touchdown is not only a major sore spot for Mitchell, it was a huge play for the Commanders. At that point, the Eagles were up 21-7 in the second quarter and Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense faced a third and 8 from the Eagles' 32. A failed conversion would've put the team in a tough spot: attempt a 49-yard field goal or go for it on fourth and a mile.

Daniels and Co. didn't have to worry about any of that though, as McLaurin proceeded to cook Mitchell by releasing toward the inside, only to cut outside at the top of his route. Mitchell totally took the bait and couldn't recover, leaving McLaurin wide-open for the touchdown catch

The score made it a 21-14 game after the PAT and the Commanders eventually went on to win, 36-33. It was easily their biggest win of the regular season.

Mitchell allowed just two touchdowns during the regular season, one of those being this play. So, it's very easy to see why McLaurin left an extremely bad taste in his mouth and it'll be fun to watch those two go at it over the coming years (yes, that's assuming McLaurin gets extended because he will).
