Geno Stone is ready to put a tough 2024 season behind him and meet the moment this coming fall. The safety is entering Year Two with the Bengals looking at another clear path to playing time after Cincinnati didn't select a safety in the 2025 NFL Draft.

He discussed that with CLNS Media's Mike Petraglia in the Bengals' locker room on Monday.

"I'm gonna do my job," Stone said about no safety additions this past weekend. "They brought me here for a reason, and I got to fulfill that. That's something I want to honor by them for giving me a contract here. So whatever they did, it is what it is. That's on them. But, at the same time, I'm going to go out here and compete—no matter who's out here. I'm still doing my job and being who I am."

Stone showed excitement about new defensive coordinator Al Golden. The former Bengals linebackers coach could help lift Stone to a bounce-back season following a 53.1 Pro Football Focus grade. This followed back-to-back seasons above 72 overall. He ranked 59th out of 66 qualified safeties in PFF grade across the 2024 season (1,100 snaps).

There were flashes of strong play mixed in there, something he's trying to channel.

"A couple of guys that are really good disruptors up front," Stone said about the defensive additions this offseason. "It's something we need. So, I'm ready to get working with everybody and see who's ready to prove it this year. So, that's kind of my mindset this year go in and just prove everyone wrong. So, when we get started rolling in (training) camp and everything like that, I feel like we ready to go."
