Indianapolis Colts Draft Picks For Rounds 4-7
- Indianapolis Colts General Manager Chris Ballard speaks to the press in a pre-draft press conference Monday, April 21, 2025 at the Colts headquarters, the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center.

The last day of the NFL Draft was on Saturday and the Colts would start the day with four picks. The Colts would look to add a pick with a trade to the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams got pick 117 and the Colts received pick 127 while also adding an extra sixth-round pick at 190. The first trade of this draft for Ballard came later than most drafts happened on day three. Let’s dive into the newest members of the Indianapolis Colts.

127. Jalen Travis- OT, (Iowa State)

Travis is a tall tackle that has proportional mass and length but like most taller tackles he does have limitations in tight quarters and on anchoring on blocks when he does not drop his pad level. He has average foot quickness but is covered up a bit with how well he uses his length. He is tough on rushers when he uses timing and his punching method but also can get sloppy hand placement at times. All things said he will get better with work and will compete for a starting role in the years to come.

151. DJ Giddens- RB, (Kanas State)

The Colts may hit a home run with this pick a big back which is a workhorse. He has great vision and allows his bigs to get to their blocks with his patience running. He also has very strong hands only having one fumble over his last two seasons that is 428 carries per Pro Football Focus. He will be a great fit in the Colts running back room.

189. Riley Leonard- QB, (Notre Dame)

I stated early on in my mock drafts that the Colts would add a young quarterback at some point in the draft. I mocked Will Howard but this pick of Riley Leonard makes much more sense with his ability to run.

190. Tim Smith- DT, (Alabama)

The Colts add much-needed defensive tackle help behind DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart. This pick is a solid selection of a hard-hat defensive tackle that will plug holes to help make plays. He has all the traits that the Colts love for their tackles to have. He is fast off the snap and uses his heavy hands to make contact first he will become a great rotational player in Indy.

232. Hunter Wohler- S, (Wisconsin)

The Colts are listing Wohler as a linebacker instead of a safety. This could be a player that could eventually replace linebacker EJ Speed the Colts lost during free agency. He has a hustle-based play style that adds to his tackle opportunities. He also uses active hands to break up passes to intended receivers. He will play a major part on special teams to maintain a roster spot.

Final Thoughts

The blue and white had an extremely excellent draft this year. They got the players they wanted and fitted the team’s personality. They found picks in the later rounds that could end up being starters which is a testament to our scouting department working hard all year to identify the players the team needs.
