The Indianapolis Colts head to Pittsburgh this Sunday for a showdown against the 4-3 Steelers. The Colts will look to take an even better grasp on the AFC with beating the Steelers on Sunday and it looks like the team will be getting back a key defensive player. Cornerback Jaylon Jones who has been on IR since training camp has been going full go at practice all week. This comes after being a limited participant all last week. What kind of spark could this bring for the blue and white let’s dive into the details.
The Indy defense has been the only question mark this team has had all season. It has been kind of bend don’t break in the matchups against high power offenses. First year defensive coordinator Lou Armnano has done a great job with what he has had to deal with on the injury front all Season. The team lost Jaylon Jones, Mooney Ward, and rookie sensation Justin Walley which are all cornerbacks. The team is also dealing with defensive end players being banged up as well.
The defense is still doing a great job at stopping offenses when they have to but getting some players back should help sure up the defensive side of the ball. All signs are pointing towards cornerback Jaylon Jones returning this week. With number one cornerback Mooney Ward still on IR it will be nice to have one of the original starting cornerbacks back on the gridiron for this team. This will help the defensive line as well with better coverage in the secondary the banged up defensive line should be able to get to get pressure on the quarterback.
Overall with only two more games before this teams bye week all signs are pointing towards them being very healthy heading into the second part of the NFL season. The way this offense is playing it can only get better as they get healthy. Stay tuned to Total Apex Sports for all the latest NFL news all season long.
