The last training camp practice at Grand Park for the Indianapolis Colts is in the books. The team held a joint practice against the Green Bay Packers on a day that you would hope would come with a decision on who the starting quarterback will be. The second storyline coming from this joint practice is how hard it is to replace Ryan Kelly and Will Fries on the offensive line. Let’s dive into the top storylines from the last day of Colts training camp.
The last day of training camp practice for the Colts came in the way of a joint practice with the Packers. The main question the fans and news media were hoping to get answered was who would be QB 1: Anthony Richardson Sr. or Daniel Jones? The bad news is that neither one looked like the starter of this team today!
The next big storyline was how badly the offensive line performed against an undermanned defensive line of the Packers. It was also many stupid penalties like illegal formations and false starts that will not fly in the AFC. The best news of the day came from Head Coach Shane Steichen, who said, “Cornerback Kenny Moore is feeling great!” That is great news after losing Justin Walley for the season with a torn ACL.
It looks as if the second and final preseason games may hold the final say in who wins the starting quarterback job. Hopefully, the offense will look better in the game at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday. The last thing I want to point out is that Tyler Warren is really good. He will have a spectacular rookie season.
