The Indianapolis Colts first team offense dominated the Detroit Lions in their first joint practice. It started off in the 1-on-1s where Matt Ryan pass catchers won ten of the eleven reps. Alec Pierce and Michael Pittman Jr. lead the way in this drill. Pierce continues to solidify his spot on the roster.

Matt Ryan looked sharp today, and his arm is looking stronger than it has been. Ryan even showed off his legs today with some maneuvers in the pocket. He picked apart the Lions defense with connections to all of his weapons.

Like I mentioned before Alec Pierce stood out today. This is significant because this dominance is coming against other NFL starters. Pierce was all over the field, his catches included a big time snag during RedZone work over the top of a Lions defender.
Play of the day: Red Zone 11-on-11 work, Alec Pierce hauls in a grab over a defender in the corner of the end zone.
Next play: Ryan to MPJ TD over the middle. Big cheers at Grand Park. @WISH_TV

MPJ was absolutely torching the Lions secondary. He dominated 11-on-11, one highlight came on a 45-yard gain. Then he followed that up with a screen pass for another first down. The Lions could not stop him for gaining yards after the catch.
As predicted by Colts Twitter Pittman Jr. was in the middle of a skirmish during full team drills. Pittman felt that there was extra-curricular contact on a play and he let his thoughts be known.
MIchael Pittman was thrown to the ground after a deep catch … and didn’t like it. Him and Jeff Okudah just got into it for a bit (Quenton Nelson had a few words as well) before being separated. Gotta love camp skirmishes.

Up and comping rookie tight end Andrew Ogletree was helped off the field with an apparent knee injury. This was a non-contact injury, that usually indicates a tear of a critical ligament in the knee. I am not a doctor, fans and the organization await news of the pending MRI. Thoughts and prayers to Drew.
