Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Anthony Richardson is hurt again. Head Coach Shane Steichen announced earlier today the young quarterback suffered a shoulder injury that will limit his participation in next week’s mandatory mini-camp. He will not suit up.

Richardson’s career has been defined by a few things. Injuries are one of them. He has played in only 15 of a possible 34 games during his two-year career. A shoulder injury cost the quarterback 12 games in his rookie season. Will Richardson ever remain healthy and unlock his full potential with the Indianapolis Colts?

Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Situation

Richardson is supposed to be involved in a QB competition with Daniel Jones this offseason. Richardson’s latest injury setback will give Jones a leg up in that competition. Indianapolis has seemingly everything figured out on the team outside of the quarterback. That is a big question mark to have.

Indianapolis took a huge swing by drafting Richardson No. 4 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Up to this point, he has been a complete bust. Richardson cannot stay on the field, and when he does, struggles with accuracy.

Final Thoughts

Richardson’s latest injury setback is the latest in a young career filled with them. He is viewed as the team’s franchise quarterback, but must stay on the field to fulfill that potential. Hopefully Richardson could recover from his injury to return to the field as soon as possible. He is preparing for an important third season.
