Injuries to monitor after Week 8: Tough day for rookie RBs

Each week of the NFL season, Yardbarker will be monitoring players who have suffered notable injuries.

New York Giants RB Cam Skattebo

Skattebo has been one of the bright spots for the Giants this season and along with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, has helped inject some life into a stagnant franchise. He scored his seventh touchdown of the season in Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a gruesome looking ankle injury.

The entire Giants team surrounded him on the field before he was carted off, with the Giants immediately ruling him out for the remainder of the game with a dislocated ankle. The Giants said he was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

With that sort of injury it is a good bet that he is going to miss significant time and remove one of the Giants' best players from the lineup.

Chicago Bears DL Shemar Turner

The Bears entered Sunday's game absolutely decimated by injuries on the defensive side of the ball, and things did not get any better in the first half when defensive lineman Shemar Turner had to leave the game with a knee injury.

He was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game after being carted to the locker room.

Turner was the Bears' second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Sunday was Turner's fifth game of the season, with his workload steadily increasing in recent weeks.

Cincinnati Bengals Edge Trey Hendrickson

The Bengals are trying to turn their season around after a brutal start and continued that on Sunday with a second consecutive win. That is the good news.

The bad news is their best defensive player, Trey Hendrickson, left the game with a hip injury and did not return.

Hendrickson missed last Thursday's game and was clearly not 100% on Sunday. The Bengals defense has issues even with him in the lineup. It can not afford to be without him for an extended period of time.

Cleveland Browns RB Quinshon Judkins

While the Browns season has become another disappointment, their rookie class has produced some promising results with Judkins leading the way. Entering play on Sunday he had rushed for 467 yards on 109 carries while scoring five touchdowns.

He was not as effective on Sunday, and then left the game with a shoulder injury and did not return.

Judkins declined to speak with the media after the game.

The Browns do have a bye week next week, so he will have an extra week to prepare for their next game against the New York Jets
