Injury report reveals Packers QB Jordan Love's status

The Green Bay Packers take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in the NFC wild-card round. Heading into the week, there were some questions at the quarterback position for both teams. Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts missed the end of the NFL regular season with a concussion. Green Bay’s two rostered quarterbacks, Jordan Love and Malik Willis, got hurt in Week 18.

Love hurt his elbow after being taken to the ground by Chicago Bears defenders. The blow caused his hand to go numb, and many wondered if that would linger into the NFL playoffs. Willis hurt his right thumb in the game.

Both started the week limited at practice and listed as questionable for the wild-card round.

Love doesn't have game designation for wild-card bout

Despite being limited in practice earlier in the week, Love stated that the feeling in his hand returned the day after the loss to the Bears. He did admit, however, that his elbow was sore when he went through his throwing motion.

“We’ll see. Yeah. I’m hopeful,” Love told reporters in response to a question regarding whether or not he would be able to play on Sunday.

Love was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday. When the Packers injury report was released, Love did not have a game designation.

Of course, this means that he should be available.

Final Packers injury report for wild-card game with Eagles

Green Bay has the following players ruled out for the game against Philadelphia:

  • Christian Watson (knee)
  • Zayne Anderson (concussion)

Watson, as fans know, tore his ACL in Week 18. He has not yet been placed on injured reserve, however, like Jaire Alexander was. This is why Watson is still on the injury report while Alexander is not.

Anderson suffered a concussion in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings.

The following Packers players are listed as questionable:

  • Brenton Cox (foot)
  • Andre Dillard (concussion)
  • TJ Slaton (ankle)
  • Quay Walker (ankle)
  • Evan Williams (quad)

Slaton was the only player listed above that played in Week 18. Williams has missed the past several games with an injury that he suffered in practice.

Along with Love, the following players were on the Packers injury report this week, but do not have a designation for Sunday and will play/be available:

  • Javon Bullard (ankle)
  • Edgerrin Cooper (illness/knee)
  • Romeo Doubs (illness)
  • Malik Willis (thumb)

Doubs was the only player listed above who did not play in Week 18. He came down with an illness the night prior to the game.
