Insider attempts to clarify Tua Tagovailoa's incendiary comments

The Miami Dolphins are imploding right before our eyes.

Not only did they lose a game they should've won, but Tua Tagovailoa's incendiary postgame comments only poured more gasoline on this team's crisis.

The Alabama product called out leadership, sharing that players have been skipping or showing up late to players-only meetings. Of course, his choice of words was interesting, to say the least, given that he's also supposed to be one of the team's leaders.

With that in mind, team insider Barry Jackson took to social media to clear the air on those comments.

Dolphins insider clears the air on Tua Tagovailoa's comments

"To be clear (because it's being portrayed incorrectly nationally), when Tua is talking about players showing up late to players' only meetings, or not showing up at all, he is NOT talking about what everyone thinks when they think players only meetings (the type when teams are losing)," Jackson clarified. "He is referring to position meetings where players, beyond what they do with coaches, discuss that week's opponent, strategy, nuances of the game etc. Those are the meetings that DL and DBs asked the coaches to start attending recently."

Still, the fact that players are either late or no-shows at those meetings also speaks volumes about the lack of respect they have for the coaching staff and one another's time.

Tagovailoa has thrown everybody under the bus this season. He was already under fire for stating that he didn't care whether he threw five touchdowns or five picks because he would still get to go back home to his family, but this may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

He's underperformed from the very second he arrived in the league, yet his teammates and coach Mike McDaniel have always had his back.

The Dolphins fired Brian Flores when he wanted Tua to be accountable for his many mistakes, so this team might just be reaping what they sowed.
