So far, the Green Bay Packers have had a fairly quiet NFL offseason, aside from losing several players to free agency. Brian Gutekunst has added three new faces from outside the organization: defensive lineman Javon Hargrave, wide receiver and special teams returner Skyy Moore, and linebacker Zaire Franklin.
In a recent PFF report, analyst Gordon McGuinness evaluated each NFL team after the initial phase of free agency. He gave the Packers a D, stating that the team’s early acquisitions were largely underwhelming.
Although the offseason has gotten off to a slow start, Green Bay remains very much in the market. If the right opportunity arises, the front office is likely to act quickly, whether it comes through free agency or a trade.
Wicks or Reed are such obvious trade targets now. https://t.co/oSc6l2IQNk

Peter Bukowski of Locked On Packers suggests that, following the departure of Waddle, either Jayden Reed or Dontayvion Wicks would be logical trade targets for the Dolphins.
“Wicks or Reed are such obvious trade targets now,” Bukowski posted on X (formerly Twitter).
The Dolphins are in need of a wide receiver. After signing former Packers quarterback Malik Willis to a three-year, $67.5 million deal in free agency, the Dolphins must provide him with weapons. They cannot head into the 2026 season with their current depth at the position.
Green Bay still boasts a strong wide receiver group with plenty of young talent. Even after losing Romeo Doubs to the New England Patriots in free agency, the team remains well-positioned. If the right trade offer came along, Gutekunst might consider moving a receiver, but he isn’t willing to part with one without significant value in return.
Reed played just seven games for the Packers last season after breaking his collarbone early in the year. He totaled 19 receptions for 207 yards and one touchdown. Back in 2024, he had 55 catches for 857 yards and six touchdowns across 17 games.
Regarding Wicks, the 24-year-old receiver totaled 30 receptions for 332 yards and two touchdowns across 14 games last season. In 2024, he finished with 39 catches for 415 yards and five scores.
The rumors linking the Packers and the Dolphins are understandable. The real question is whether the Packers would actually make a move if the Dolphins showed serious interest.
