Brandon Aubrey has officially arrived as the NFL’s new premier kicker.

The Dallas Cowboys won a 40-37 thriller on Sunday against the rival New York Giants. It took Dallas overtime to pull out the victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex., but it proved to be well worth the price of admission.

Aubrey, the Cowboys kicker, was the hero, going a perfect 8/8 on kicks (4/4 on field goals and 4/4 on extra points) for a total of 16 points on the day. His clutchest kick came as time expired in regulation with the Cowboys trailing 37-34 after a ridiculous go-ahead touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Giants teammate Malik Nabers with 25 seconds remaining.

Dallas just needed to get the ball a little bit past the 50-yard line, and Aubrey took care of the rest. He banged in a game-tying field goal from [checks notes] 64 yards (that even looked like it would be good from 70+). Take a look.

Aubrey then went on to win it for the Cowboys in overtime, calmly hitting a 46-yarder for the decisive score after a Wilson interception had set up prime field position for Dallas.

Fans and pundits reacted on X to Aubrey’s monster performance with a mixture of shock and awe. Take a look at some of the best posts.

Even former Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic couldn’t help but give a shoutout to Aubrey and the Cowboys over the impressive win.

Aubrey, who is now responsible for the two of the four total field goals in NFL history from 64+ yards, clearly has the biggest leg in the game right now. He is also now 82/91 (90.1 percent) on field goal attempts for his career and could be nearing the title of the most accurate NFL kicker of all-time (once he reaches the 100 career attempts necessary to qualify him on official statistical leaderboards).

Even Aubrey’s (extremely rare) misses tend to generate buzz as people simply can’t get enough of the talented kicker right now, especially after he led Dallas on Sunday to their first victory of the Brian Schottenheimer era.
