Is Giants, Odell Beckham Jr. reunion imminent after workout report?

Pockets of New York Giants fans were excited to learn on Monday that the club had hosted veteran free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for a workout.

While it seems that a reunion between the two sides is possible, Big Blue supporters may not want to take their old Beckham jerseys out of their closets just yet.

Giants in no rush to sign Odell Beckham Jr. after workout

"The workout, I'm told, Beckham looked quite good in that workout," Giants and NFL reporter Connor Hughes of SNY shared.

Specifically, Hughes was told that Beckham "ran well" in front of Giants personnel.

"Despite this," Hughes continued, "...nothing is imminent at the moment. I'm told that from talking with Giants sources."

Beckham earned three Pro Bowl nods while playing for the Giants from 2014 through the 2018 season, and he played under Giants head coach John Harbaugh when the two were with the Baltimore Ravens during the 2023 campaign.

That said, Beckham hasn't participated in an NFL regular-season game since Dec. 8, 2024. Additionally, the Giants could address their need for a wide receiver as soon as during the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft Thursday night.

Will Giants draft this prospect instead of signing Odell Beckham Jr.?

After speaking with "numerous coaches, executives and scouts from a variety of teams," Jeff Howe of The Athletic predicted for a mock draft posted on Tuesday that the Giants will make Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson the 10th overall pick of this year's player-selection process.

"Tyson alleviated hamstring concerns last week with his private workout, so he has a realistic chance of getting into the top 10," Howe wrote. "And with the way teams have discussed him, the top 10 might be more likely than not. Tyson has a strong frame, really good ball skills, and can show off his playmaking ability after the catch."

Meanwhile, Hughes noted that nothing between the Giants and Beckham "will happen until after the draft."

"There is a real chance there just isn't a spot on the roster for him," Hughes added about Beckham and the Giants.
