Isiah Pacheco missed most of the 2024 season due to injury, but he still appeared in seven games for the Kansas City Chiefs during the fantasy football season. While you can’t predict injuries, there is some cause of concern for his performance after his injury. Let’s take a look at Pacheco’s dynasty outlook.

Isiah Pacheco: Chiefs Running Back Dynasty Outlook

Current Performance

Pacheco finished the 2024 season with just 310 yards and one rushing touchdown. He added 12 receptions for 79 yards in the passing game for the Chiefs. Pacheco averaged 44 yards on the ground in the seven games he played during the fantasy football season. You expect a slow start in his first game back from injury, but his subsequent performances are concerning.

He ended with a total of 44.9 fantasy points in standard leagues and 56.9 fantasy points in PPR. It’s not fair to look at how he finished the season, but his fantasy points per game is the issue. Pacheco averaged just 6.4 fantasy points and 8.1 per game in PPR leagues. Even as an RB2 for fantasy, that’s not good enough. Kareem Hunt showed he is the lead back now in Kansas City as Patrick Mahomes throws the ball less.

Even without his injury, it’s safe to say Pacheco was a disappointment in 2024.

Isiah Pacheco Dynasty Price

KeepTradeCut lists Pacheco as the RB20 in dynasty leagues and the 88th player overall. He sits just ahead of players such as Alvin Kamara and James Conner. Given the uncertainty with Pacheco, Kamara and Conner are two players that should be slotted above him. The only reason they are not is because they are four years older.

Fantasycalc provides a list of all trades involving Pacheco. Some people are valuing him much higher than others, and there is a wide variety of returns. His value is as high as Chris Godwin or a 2026 first and third, but it’s as low as Xavier Legette or Trey Benson and a 2025 second-round pick.

Floating Pacheco on your league’s trade block is a good idea to see what kind of offers you could get for him with those in your league.

Isiah Pacheco Contract and Salary

Pacheco is entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2025. While his numbers in 2022 and 2023 weren’t exactly bad, he is definitely going into a “prove it” year with the Chiefs. He won’t be hearing anything from the Chiefs this offseason about a contract the way Terry McLaurin will be.

The uncertainty about his contract shouldn’t be a factor in deciphering what to do with Pacheco in dynasty leagues. His production when healthy is the much bigger issue.

What to do With Isiah Pacheco in Dynasty Leagues

Right now, Pacheco’s value is fluctuating too much to make a decision. You don’t want to sell him low when there’s a good chance his value shoots up closer to the season. The best thing to do would be to hold onto him for now before selling in July or August.

Running backs will be in higher demand at that time of the year after the rookie draft has taken place. If you currently own Pacheco, start crafting up your plan once you do offload him.
