There has been plenty of bad press around how the Philadelphia Eagles' offense looked in Week 2 of training camp, but the team seems to get off on the right foot on Monday, thanks to their quarterback Jalen Hurts setting the tone.
94 WIP Eagles reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks praised Hurts at practice on Monday as he gave him an A grade, the highest the signal caller has gotten from Shorr-Parks. Hurts' stats included completing 16 of 19 passes with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
Shorr-Parks shared his in-depth analysis of Hurts' practice and what made the offense tick so well.
"Hurts and the first team offense needed a win after a rough first few days and they got it on Monday
Hurts was clutch in situational football vs the 1st team defense. In a series of drills on Monday it was offense vs defense. If the offense got a 1st down, they got a point. If the defense got a stop, they got a point.
It was 3-3 after six drills, sending it to OT and the first team offense back on the field. Hurts dropped back and hit Devonta across the middle for a first down, getting the offense the win and sending the sideline into a frenzy.
In another situational drill the Eagles offense faced 3rd down on their own two yard line. Hurts dropped back in his own end zone and once again hit Smith for a fresh set of downs.
The offense has been close to putting together a great practice the last few days but hasn’t been able to get those final few plays to make it a great day.
Monday they got the throws and plays they needed to lock up a great day and a win over the defense."

The second week of training camp has been filled with a lot of bad, with some good mixed in. Hurts, for the most part, has been okay, but not great. Monday's practice showed the Eagles what everyone can expect from Hurts entering the 2025 season.
Shorr-Parks shared Hurts' training camp stats so far: 122 of 166, four touchdowns, two interceptions. Those aren't bad numbers compared to other teams in the NFL, but not everyone is a fan of the training camp stats.
Fans won't honestly know what the Eagles' offense will look like until their Week 1 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys next month. The starters won't be getting much time on the field, given it's preseason and the need to stay healthy.
It's a good start to the week for the Eagles, but Hurts and the offense need to keep doing it on a consistent level.
