Life sometimes comes at you fast—and that’s certainly the case for Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.
Just a year ago, Smith had barely arrived in Columbus after wrapping up his senior year of high school. Flash forward to now, and the 19-year-old superstar is already one of the best football players in the country.
Jeremiah Smith is the most physically gifted WR I’ve ever watched.

Following a National Championship season as a freshman, Smith has landed on the cover of EA Sports College Football 26. He’s become a celebrity almost overnight, and he recently opened up about how drastically life has changed in an interview with Fox.
“When I want groceries from either Kroger or Target, I have to get it delivered to my house,” Smith explained. “It’s crazy. But I guess this is what comes with it. This is my lifestyle now.”
That’s a tough trade-off—unless he wants to be mobbed for autographs and selfies every time he goes out for something as simple as a gallon of milk. Still, as a 19-year-old college athlete making seven figures, some sacrifices are probably worth it.
Smith exploded onto the scene last season, racking up 1,315 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns across 16 games. He was especially dominant during Ohio State’s four-game College Football Playoff run, scoring five touchdowns—two each against Tennessee and Oregon.
Fortunately for Buckeye fans, Smith will be back in scarlet and gray for at least two more seasons. By the time he leaves Columbus for the NFL, it’ll be interesting to see what records—if any—are still standing. Ohio State’s offense is once again going to play through their star wideout again in 2025 and he could be in store for an even bigger season than he had in 2024.
