Jackson Powers-Johnson Seeks 'Retribution' Against Raiders' Hated AFC West Rival

The Las Vegas Raiders had arguably the worst roster in the NFL last season, which led to an abysmal four-win campaign under head coach Antonio Pierce. Still, somehow, the team had a chance to take down the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13.

Trailing by just two points in the waning seconds of the contest, the Raiders were prepared to run one more play before calling a timeout and letting kicker Daniel Carlson win the game for them. However, a botched snap between quarterback Aidan O'Connell and rookie center Jackson Powers-Johnson gave the Chiefs the ball back, and just seconds later, the victory.

Powers-Johnson and O'Connell both took the blame for the miscue, but ultimately, the details of it were not important. Powers-Johnson recently spoke on "The Rush with Maxx Crosby" about which AFC West opponent he was looking forward to facing most in the 2025 season, and he had an obvious answer.

"I respect them as opponents. But, I strongly dislike them all," Powers-Johnson said. "Just because of the PTSD, I need retribution for the Chiefs."

Las Vegas will take on the Chiefs in Week 7 at Arrowhead Stadium, so that will be the young player's first crack at the team's hated division rival. Ideally, Powers-Johnson has moved past the mistake, regardless of whose fault it was, and he can play focused football against one of the best teams in the league.

However, if he can channel that frustration and use it as motivation, then more power to him.
