Jacksonville Jaguars Attempting Major NFL Draft Trade: Report
Doug Engle/Florida Times-Union

The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly attempting to make a major trade in the NFL draft. With just a few hours left before the start of the draft, it seems that Jacksonville is among one of the more active teams.

According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, the Jaguars are looking to move up in the draft from the No. 5 pick. Howe is reporting that Jacksonville could be looking to go up as high as No. 2, which belongs to the Cleveland Browns.

This move could be a sign that the Jaguars want the chance to draft Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter. Hunter is expected to go within the first few picks tonight, with many expecting him to be taken second overall.

Jacksonville is coming off a very down year that saw them miss the postseason. The franchise responded to this by making a change at the head coaching position, bringing in former Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant Liam Coen.

Coen knows firsthand what it takes to win, and he had multiple star wide receivers to work with in Tampa Bay. If the Jaguars were to move up to select Hunter, it could be a true game-changer for this franchise.

Hunter is seen as a once-in-a-generation type of talent heading into this draft, so naturally, many teams would love to land him. Due to his abilities to play both offense and defense, he would offer whichever team selects him a unique opportunity.

The Jaguars are in a good spot if they stay at No. 5, but it seems that this squad has its mind set on seeing what they can negotiate with other teams.
