The Jacksonville Jaguars found a solid offensive lineman in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, selecting Anton Harrison 27th overall. Since then, he has developed into a reliable right tackle with 49 starts over the past three years. Harrison put together a solid third season after not being guaranteed the starting right tackle position last offseason and having to compete with Chuma Edoga through training camp, a job he ultimately won. He allowed 35 pressures, 31 hurries, three quarterback hits, and a career-low one sack across 16 starts, posting a 76.7 pass-blocking grade, a 65.6 run-blocking grade, and a 73.2 PFF grade.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a major financial decision to make for the 2027 season shortly

Because Anton Harrison was a first-round pick, he has a fully guaranteed 5th-year option for the 2027 season, with the decision due in the first week of May. Since he did not make the Pro Bowl but met the playing-time threshold of averaging 75% or more of snaps across all three seasons, he is categorized under Tier 2, the playtime tier. Tier 2 is worth approximately $19.072 million, per Over The Cap.

During the NFL Annual League Meeting, James Gladstone was asked about Anton Harrison’s club option, as reported by Ryan O’Halloran of The Florida Times-Union. The general manager said the Jaguars will pick up his 5th-year option. As a result, Harrison will earn a fully guaranteed $19.972 million salary in 2027, but could be an extension candidate if he plays well in his fourth season.

The good news for Trevor Lawrence is that the Jaguars will have their two starting offensive tackles under contract for at least the next two seasons. Left tackle Cole Van Lanen is locked in through the 2028 season at $17 million per year. Van Lanen previously bounced around at left guard, right guard, and right tackle before settling in at left tackle in Week 14.
