Jacksonville Jaguars sign a pair of veteran defensive backs to help bolster weak secondary

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a much better offseason this time around than they did last offseason. They addressed some needs in free agency and the 2024 NFL Draft but didn't get everything fixed.

The team's most pressing needs are undoubtedly in the secondary on the defensive side of the ball. Despite drafting Jarrian Jones from Florida State and making other moves, it's clear that more needs to be done. Notably, they did not bring in any cornerbacks in their undrafted free-agent class.

After losing Darious Williams to the Los Angeles Rams, the Jaguars have also decided that what they did do would not be enough. On Thursday, they signed veteran defensive backs Terrell Edmunds and Tre Flowers, who have some very valuable experience.

Edmunds played for the Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles last season, starting four games and playing in 16. Flowers has been in the league for six years and has started 40 games.

These are two very good pickups by the Jaguars, adding to their depth and providing some great veterans for Tyson Campbell and Jones.
