Jaguars Add BJ Ojulari To Practice Squad

The 24-year-old Ojulari had been without a team since the Cardinals waived him on cutdown day on Aug. 30. Although the Cardinals spent a second-round pick on Ojulari in 2023, they parted with the former LSU Tiger after an injury-ruined couple of years.

Ojulari got off to a decent start during a 17-game rookie season in which recorded 40 tackles, six quarterback hits and four sacks. But he was unable to build on that in 2024 after tearing multiple knee ligaments, including his ACL, in training camp. Ojulari finally returned last November, but he totaled just nine tackles, three QB hits and a sack in eight games.

With Green set to miss at least four games because of an elbow injury, Ojulari will give the Jaguars available depth along the edge. Starting ends Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker thrived in the team’s 34-10 win over the Browns in Week 1, while backup Danny Striggow played 47% of defensive snaps. Bryan Thomas Jr. (not to be confused with Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr.) and Wesley Williams, the other DEs on Jacksonville’s 53-man roster, were healthy scratches. If Jacksonville wants to replace Green for a Week 2 showdown in Denver this Sunday, it could elevate Ojulari or dress either Thomas or Williams.

Kiser, a fourth-round selection in 2025, made 14 tackles in as many games during his rookie campaign. Most of his work (193 of 236 snaps) came on special teams. The Jaguars waived the Notre Dame product on cutdown day, but they quickly re-signed him as a practice squad option. Kiser is already back on their roster a couple weeks later.
