Jaguars' Andre Cisco Named to ESPN's All-Under 24 List
USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars had high hopes for third-year safety Andre Cisco, and he hasn't disappointed.

As a result, it is far from a surprise to see Cisco named to ESPN's All-Under 24 team, being named a second-team safety as the Jaguars' lone representitive.

"Cisco has the ball-hawking traits with the deep-field range to make plays from the post- or split-field alignments. Over the past two seasons, the 2021 third-rounder has six interceptions (tied for eighth-most), seven pass breakups and a TD. And he will deliver a strike when driving top-down on the ball, with 46 tackles in 2023," ESPN said.

In 10 starts this year, Cisco has recorded 46 tackles, 29 solo tackles, one tackle for loss, 0.5 sacks, three interceptions, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

Cisco had a strong start to the 2023 season before a hamstring injury in Week 7 forced him to miss a game in Week 8. Otherwise, the second-year starter has continued to elevate his play and has become a big reason the Jaguars' pass defense has taken a leap in their second year under Mike Caldwell.

“Oh, always. There’s a bunch of plays we leave out there and there’s a lot of things that we would like to do better and we just come in here every week, I told the guys, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, let’s go have fun on Sunday," Caldwell said earlier in the season.

"That’s the mindset you have to have and you have to get better every day. What we’ve done in the past, that doesn’t matter. What happens today matters, what happens Friday matters, Saturday matters, and Sunday really matters. We need to do it again, that’s how you look at it.”

Other young Jaguars who just missed the age mark: Trevor Lawrence (24), Devin Lloyd (25), Travis Etienne (24), and Walker Little (24).

Three young Jaguars who didn't make the list were Tyson Campbell (23), Travon Walker (22), and Anton Harrison (21).
