Former LSU Tigers star Brian Thomas had a memorable rookie year with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. The No. 23 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft registered 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns, en route to being named part of the All-Pro team as a rookie.
The Jaguars wide receiver has picked up right where he left off last season. Thomas already has 12 catches for 164 yards in Jacksonville’s first four games in 2025. The 22-year-old has also rushed twice, resulting in 16 yards and a rushing TD.
Thomas wasted no time making his mark in Monday night’s matchup against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The young wideout made franchise history in the first quarter after logging his 100th career catch.
The Jaguars took to social media to announce Thomas’ incredible feat.
“With a 12-yard reception, @BrianThomas_11 becomes the second fastest player in franchise history to reach 100 career receptions, doing so in 22 games (WR Allen Robinson II, 21 games),” Jaguars PR posted on X.

It took Thomas just 22 games to get to 100 receptions. That’s just one game shy of tying the Jaguars’ all-time record, which was set by Pro Bowl WR Allen Robinson in 2015.
Thomas hasn’t exactly achieved superstar status just yet, but it’s hard to deny that the Jaguars stud has the potential to become one of the top wideouts in the NFL. At 6-foot-2 and 207 lbs., Thomas has an excellent combination of size and speed. He’s also shown early chemistry with cornerstone quarterback Trevor Lawrence, which could very well blossom into an elite offensive partnership.
Jacksonville will need Thomas to step it up on Monday night against the Chiefs, though. As of writing, Jacksonville is down 14-0 with nine minutes remaining in the first half.
Thomas currently has two catches for 34 receiving yards.
