Jaguars' Cam Robinson ejected after making contact with official

The Jacksonville Jaguars were without their left tackle for part of Thursday's game against the Miami Dolphins, and it's because of something we've seen happen earlier this season.

Cam Robinson was ejected late in the third quarter for making contact with an official. The foul occurred after Robinson attempted to recover a fumble made by quarterback Gardner Minshew. Robinson and official Danny Short were on the ground after the Dolphins recovered the ball, and Robinson appeared to shove Short's arm.

A flag was immediately thrown, and Robinson was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct.

"I saw the official jump in there, and the official told me afterwards he jumped on him [while in the pile] and Cam went to push him off him," Jacksonville coach Doug Marrone said, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. "He touched the official. That's what I was told. You can't touch an official."

Earlier this season, we saw Detroit Lions linebacker Jamie Collins ejected for making contact with an official during Week 1. Collins was trying to demonstrate that he had been blocked illegally by sticking his helmet into the referee's chest.

As we're now in Week 3, it appears players need to be more cautious about making contact with the officials. Quite frankly, they aren't putting up with any of it this season.
