Jaguars' Christian Kirk reveals how injured he has been playing in 2023

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been no strangers to injuries in 2023. They have really taken a beating, no matter what position it is. You name a player, and there is a chance they have been on the injury report in some form or fashion this season, no matter the status.

Some guys play through it; some guys can't. But the Jaguars appear to be getting healthy at the right time. If they beat the Titans on Sunday, they get into the playoffs, and they finish with a better record than they had last year, where they currently sit at the same win total as 2022.

Last week the Jaguars had Cam Robinson return from injury, and he played a great game on Sunday. This week, we could see Trevor Lawrence and Christian Kirk back. However, Kirk revealed he had been playing with a pretty severe injury for most of the season.

"These core muscle injuries can kind of have a broad spectrum of severity. Mine was my left adductor, left ab off the bone. And then I had a right tear that I had been playing with since Week 6," Kirk told the media in the locker room.

"I had been running after an injury for a while. I'm definitely happy I was able to get it fixed, and now I'm healthy. I'm trying to do everything to trust the process, trust the timeline, and take it day by day. Honestly, the fact that I'm standing in front of y'all in cleats, being able to go out on the practice field, is still kind of surreal to me. But I have been working tirelessly."

That should put into perspective for fans just how tough these players are. And, when you add in that Kirk has been one of the best receivers in the league this year, it makes it even better.
