It's a reunion for Waugh and general manager Trent Baalke, who worked together in San Francisco for nearly a decade.
The Jaguars have officially hired 49ers VP Ethan Waugh as assistant GM. Leaves the Niners with a more traditional setup—with Adam Peters as ass't GM, Ran Carthon as director of player personnel underneath John Lynch.

Waugh worked with Trent Baalke in San Francisco from 2005-16.
Adding Waugh is the latest move Jacksonville has made to rebuild itself after a disastrous 2021 season. In addition to rebuilding the team so it wins more than two games a season, the Jaguars are also retooling their front office in an effort to improve the overall culture.
The Jaguars still have work to do to distance themselves from the fallout of last season brought on primarily by former head coach Urban Meyer. Meyer's antics both on and off the field resulted in him being fired before the 2021 season was over — not even a full year after he had been hired.
