Jaguars' Josh Allen says team has 'professional setting' now that Urban Meyer is gone

Jacksonville Jaguars pass-rusher Josh Allen was not sad to see former head coach Urban Meyer go. On Tuesday, Allen talked about how much more enjoyable training camp has been under new head coach Doug Pederson.

"It's a professional locker room," Allen said, via Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. "It's a professional setting. He's talking to us like grown men."

Meyer spent just 13 games as the Jaguars head coach before a stretch of poor play by the team combined with mounting scandals ended his brief tenure. The team's former kicker Josh Lambo is currently suing the Jaguars after alleging last year that he was kicked by Meyer during training camp. Shortly before he was fired, NFL Network reported that Meyer had a habit of berating his assistant coaches, calling them "losers" and "f----ng terrible."

The team was 2-11 under Meyer and lost three of its last four games with the coach by at least 20 points.

In the offseason, the Jaguars hired Pederson, the former head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. He won Super Bowl LII with the team in February 2018, but was fired by the Eagles after the 2020 season.
