The NFL is a constant grind. Wins do not come easy - no matter how talented you are most weeks. For the Jacksonville Jaguars, they earned a pivotal early season win in an AFC South that is certainly open for the taking.

After getting their second win of the season, the locker room was understandably hyped up for their performance and the overall outcome of the game against the Houston Texans. At the helm of the Jags' excitement, their head coach made them feel their value to the team.

Liam Coen's passionate postgame meeting with Jags players

After the victory, Jaguars head coach Liam Coen didn't hold back. Where the Jags released his postgame speech last week that was filled with discussion about how to get better, this week's was much more demonstrative. Coen made sure that his players knew that they did what they needed to do in order to get a big divisional win.

Coen was fired up, and that passion was part of the reason that he was sought after in the offseason by the new regime in Jacksonville. Aside from his offensive knowledge and play-calling prowess, the Jags also believed that he could be a real leader for the young players and veterans scattered across the roster.

"We've said this before, whether it was Urban Meyer's first big win, Doug Pederson's playoff win over the Los Angeles Chargers, or anyone else; Liam Coen seems to be the right guy for the job in Jacksonville. Last week, he showed his emotions after a loss, and the Jaguars media team shared that post-game speech with everyone to show how raw and vulnerable a team can be that just wants to win. They learned from their mistakes last week, and went and beat a Houston Texans team that's supposed to be winning the division right about now - but is in last place.

The Jaguars were able to get to C.J. Stroud, which made life hell for him, and then put pressure on the Texans' defense with some moments in the passing game. But where they really won this game was the turnover battle. Just think, this team had more penalties, and didn't run the ball well, and only a few more passing yards, yet they won the game. That's because the Texans had three turnovers to the Jaguars' one. They stayed composed and did what they knew best, and man, it was a huge win for this new regime. And you certainly saw that after the game. Coen has the right system and culture in place to take this team back to the postseason. It's now just about the Jaguars becoming that team on the field." -- Justin Churchill, A to Z Sports

Jacksonville hears the doubters and wants to prove them wrong

It is also worth noting which players Coen praised specifically during his positive tirade that left players feeling all of his energy. Tyson Campbell forced a massive turnover, and he caught a lot of flack last weekend for some struggles in Week 2. He led the team in tackles as well.

Young star wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. understandably took heat for some drops and seemingly lapses in effort at times last week. This week, that wasn't the case when it mattered most. Thomas showed off his play-making ability and totaled 55 yards on two catches.

The second-year WR gained 46 yards on a play to set up the touchdown that was the difference in the matchup. Clutch.

Coen's overall message was clear. He wants his players to enjoy this sort of win that didn't come easy. The victory also came against a division rival - when plenty of people felt like they were the underdog in the game. This win is certainly a start to build on for Coen's tenure in Jacksonville.
