Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence Reveals Honest Travis Hunter Opinion

Jacksonville Jaguars fans can’t wait to see prized first-round pick Travis Hunter in action in the 2025 NFL season. Jags star quarterback Trevor Lawrence is just as excited to take the field with the former Colorado Buffaloes two-way star, who was taken by Jacksonville as the second pick overall in the 2025 NFL draft.

Lawrence also shared some of his thoughts on Hunter after seeing the rookie flash his potential in Monday’s organized activity.

“Ball skills, running after the catch, he’s very explosive,” Lawrence per Michael DiRocco of ESPN. “Just didn’t realize how explosive he was in and out of cuts. He’s impressive to watch and we’ve gotten to connect a couple times.

“It’s only going to keep getting better and better. We’ve only worked together for a couple days now, so we got some time to really dial in on the details.”

The Jaguars’ offense was among the worst in the league in 2024. Jacksonville, which won just four games and lost 13, was only 26th overall with an average of 18.8 points per contest and 25th with 306.2 total yards per outing.

Granted that Lawrence played in only 10 games in 2024 as his season was cut short by a concussion, the Jaguars’ offense was not an elite one even when the QB was healthy. He passed for 2,045 yards and 11 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 2024.

As for Hunter, he brings hope for the Jaguars’ air attack, and the hype on him should only grow as he continues to show Jacksonville his capabilities in the offseason.
