Campbell’s stock fluctuated throughout the predraft process, but it never felt like he’d fall out of the second round.
Despite ball skills that leave something to be desired, Campbell gained quality experience at the University of Georgia, showing off excellent tackling ability and phenomenal change of direction in pass coverage.
The Jaguars obviously needed help on the defensive side of the ball. Now, Campbell will pair with 2020 first-round pick C.J. Henderson to hopefully form a young, dynamic cornerback duo of the future in Jacksonville.
With No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence at quarterback and his Clemson teammate, tailback Travis Etienne, coming aboard on Day 1 as well, the Jags have gained serious playmakers at key positions as they try to spark an immediate turnaround under new head coach Urban Meyer.
