Jaguars still control own destiny despite four-game skid
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

It's been a disastrous month in Duval County.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were sitting at 8-3 just four weeks ago, looking like a team that could secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs. Since then, though, Jacksonville has lost its last four games, the last two of which have been by two or more scores. The Jaguars have also only posted a total of 19 points over their last two games.

Trevor Lawrence has had an especially rough stretch. He injured his ankle against the Cincinnati Bengals, and has been a turnover machine ever since. Over the last three games, the former No. 1 overall pick has thrown five interceptions and lost three fumbles.

Despite all of that, though, the Jaguars still control their own fate when it comes to making the playoffs. If they win their final two games, they win the AFC South. They hold tie-breakers over both the Texans and Colts, so as long as they take care of their own business in the season's final two weeks, they will be a playoff team.

The Jaguars host the Carolina Panthers in Week 17 and travel to Tennessee to face the Titans in the final week of the season.
