The Philadelphia Eagles wrapped up their first week of NFL training camp practice over the weekend, with full pads expected on Tuesday.
There were a handful of surprises that didn't go unnoticed, including rookie first-round pick Jihaad Campbell returning full speed from his shoulder injury.
With a full month of camp practices still ahead, some players have already made strong early impressions, seeing their stock rise.
The Eagles are looking for Darius Slay's replacement, and right now, veteran Adoree' Jackson is winning that battle.
Jackson and Kelee Ringo have been the ones primarily taking first-team reps. At first, it sounded like Ringo was the easy replacement throughout the spring, but not anymore.
According to reports, Jackson has been the impressive one so far, while Ringo is getting burnt deep.
For the most part, Jahan Dotson was a disappointment last fall.
But after spending his first full offseason with the Eagles, he seems to be catching on. It helps that Dotson spent some one-on-one time building chemistry with quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The Eagles also chose not to pick up Dotson’s fifth-year option in April, setting him up to hit free agency next March. That decision may have lit a fire, giving him extra motivation to prove Philly wrong.
If he keeps it up, the WR3 job is his.
Moro Ojomo is on the practice updates nearly every day for holding down the trenches.
He has most notably been dominating against Tyler Steen, who is expected to replace Mekhi Becton as the starting right guard.
Things could change when the pads come on, but it's good to see Ojomo getting comfortable.
It sounds like the Eagles might not miss their former sack monster Josh Sweat after all.
According to many reports and teammates, second-year edge Jalyx Hunt has been impressing early. In fact, Jordan Mailata and Nolan Smith see superstar potential in him.
It sounds like Hunt has already won the starting job, now he just needs more reps to perfect his game.
