The Chicago Bears have a stacked wide receiver room that includes Jahdae Walker. He joined the franchise last year as an undrafted free agent and emerged as a reliable weapon, climbing up the depth chart.

Walker appeared in nine regular-season games, including one start. He recorded six receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns. The former Texas A&M star’s shining moment came in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers. His touchdown reception tied the game, setting up Chicago’s overtime victory.

Walker aims to play a bigger role in 2026. However, it won’t be easy as the competition is tough and the coaching staff has several options at their disposal.

Jahdae Walker opens up on WR battle at Bears training camp

The second-year wideout opened up on the wide receiver competition at training camp. He emphasized that he wants the entire WR room to be successful, showing that he is the ultimate team player.

“I want them guys to succeed as much as I want myself to succeed,” Walker said. “Everyone is trying to say there’s this competition, it’s always going to be competition, but we’re going to continue to push each other to be better. If they have a question and I know, I’m not going to gate keep it and we’re going to hell each other out.”

Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III are expected to play most of the snaps next season. Walker, along with Zavion Thomas, will likely serve as backups. Analysts project Odunze as the clear WR1 after the Bears traded DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills in March.

Caleb Wiliams will have an influx of targets and will not lack talent on the wings. The team also bolstered its secondary and added more depth to the offensive line. Chicago has its sights set of having a deeper playoff run after its elimination in the Divisional Round last season.
