Jaire Alexander is in a different atmosphere now. After seven years with the Green Bay Packers, the All-Pro cornerback is living his first training camp with the Baltimore Ravens. He's happy to be there, especially because of his relationship with quarterback Lamar Jackson, but he doesn't need to trash the Packers to show it.
When asked if the Week 17 game against the Packers was circled on his calendar, Alexander treated it just like any other game.
"No. I circle every week," Alexander said in his press conference on Thursday. "Everybody's going to get it."
Alexander talked about the vibes on the Ravens and how he's building new relationships with head coach John Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Zach Orr.
"Z.O. is so cool. He's down to earth, relatable and somebody you can talk to," Alexander mentioned. "There's definitely a different culture here. I would say there's definitely a different culture. Heck, my head coach [John Harbaugh] squats 400 pounds, let's give it up for him. But no, like I said, I had a great time in Green Bay, but I'm here just to move forward."
Ultimately, the combination of injuries and his high salary made the Packers release Alexander earlier this offseason. Now, though, the cornerback seems healthy again and ready to make an impact for the Ravens in the AFC race.
"Physically, I'm great. I'm out there practicing, and I can't thank God enough," Jaire said. "First off, I'm going to bring that energy and that juice, so everything else will fall into place. But I'm going to bring the energy."
Everything that happened over the final few years of Alexander on the Packers didn't change his positive relationship with the organization.
"Looking back to Green Bay, I made a lot of long-lasting relationships there. I [have] nothing but love for the city," he stressed. "I think I just want to move forward and focus on how I can excel here and how we can get that Super Bowl."
Jaire Alexander signed a fully-guaranteed one-year, $4 million to play for the Ravens in 2025. His idea is that a productive season in Baltimore will allow him to go back to the market in 2026 after recouping his value to get another big contract.
