Jake Browning Gets Revenge in Bengals' Win Over Vikings: 'They Never Should've Cut Me'
Kareem Elgazzar/The Enquirer-USA TODAY Sports

Bengals quarterback Jake Browning was nearly perfect in the fourth quarter and in overtime on Saturday, helping Cincinnati overcome a 14-point deficit to beat the Vikings 27-24 at Paycor Stadium.

He completed 29-of-42 passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He threw both touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and found Tyler Boyd for a 44-yard gain in overtime that put the Bengals in position to pick up their third-straight win.

Evan McPherson kicked a 29-yard field goal to secure the victory.

Saturday's win meant more to Browning. He downplayed the fact that he was playing his former team prior to the game, but admitted

"Right after we made the field goal to win the game I screamed at a camera and said they never should've cut me," Browning said. "There was a little bit more this week. I know I denied it. And there's some great people over there, it's completely different, completely different coaching staff and everything. I want to emphasize that there are some incredible people over there, but that one felt good."

The Bengals have scored at least 27 points in each of their last three games. They're averaging 32 points-per-game over that span.

Browning was cut by the Vikings multiple times. He remember one specific time being worse than the others.

"I remember being cut there the last time and just being told like, 'Hey we might have a spot for you on practice squad. Go to the hotel and wait.' And so I sat in the hotel for a couple hours not knowing if I had a job or not," Browning said. "Then just basically got a call from my agent that, they didn't even tell me. I had been there for two years. I've been cut my fair share of times and that was probably the s******** one,"

Browning and the Bengals are 8-6 and in the thick of a tight AFC playoff race. For more on the win, go here.
