Maybe he's figured it out.

After coming off a 2024 season in which Eagles kicker Jake Elliott was one of seven from 50 yards and beyond, the Philadelphia kicker is off to a hot start, going three for three on attempts over 50 to start off the 2025 season.

After hitting a 58-yard field goal in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, Elliott continued his success with a 58-yard field goal going into halftime of the Kansas City Chiefs game to tie it at 10, along with a 51-yard field goal, to give the Eagles the lead in the third quarter. Those played a critical role in giving the Eagles the 20-17 win over the Chiefs to move to 2-0 on the season.

Elliott is currently three for three on the season and has successfully converted all five extra point opportunities so far as well.

Elliott is back to the old reliable kicker Eagles fans have grown to love

The turnaround is much welcomed compared to the 2024 season. Elliott's inability to convert from beyond 50 last season dropped his field goal percentage to the second worst in his career (77.8%), only beating out his 2020 season (14/19, 73.7%). Elliott's 2020 season was also memorable for his misses inside 30 yards, in which he was one of three.

With Elliott seemingly finding his "mojo" back, it opens another avenue for points that many NFL teams have taken advantage of. Harrison Butker, Brandon Aubrey, and now Cam Little have shifted the strategy for offensive play calling and the ability to score with kickers continuing to convert from 55 yards out and longer.

While Eagles fans can't help but be satisfied with Elliott's performance, fans watching the lead in game (Cowboys vs. Giants) can't help but notice that Brandon Aubrey converted from 51, 44, 64, and 46 en route to their victory.

Last season, the NFL saw a 72% success rate of field goals converted beyond 50 yards, which is approximately 58% higher than Elliott's 14.2 % from "no man's land". With a hot start, Elliott is on pace already to surpass his 2024 season, not just from beyond 50 but overall.

For Elliott, the success couldn't have come at a better time, as the kicker is now in his second season of a contract extension that is paying him a total of $24 million until 2028.
